About SGA

San Gabriel Academy is located in the center of Southern California's San Gabriel Valley. We provide a quality Christian education, serving students in the Greater Los Angeles area. The forerunner of San Gabriel Academy was the Alhambra Church School that began in 1933. To better serve its students and community, the school moved to its present location in 1937. Upon opening the 9th grade in 1956, the name San Gabriel Academy was first used. The first twelfth-grade class graduated in 1960 with twelve members. Throughout the years since its first graduating class, San Gabriel Academy has issued diplomas to over 2,600 students. It continues to reflect its motto of Educating for Eternity.

One thing that is always mentioned about San Gabriel Academy is a sense of belonging, of "family". San Gabriel Academy provides a strong, family environment which enhances student achievement and self-esteem. Students feel safe and valued. Teachers are caring and supportive. They encourage students to think critically and creatively.

San Gabriel Academy is part of the largest Protestant educational system in the world and is fully accredited by both the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Seventh-day Adventist North American Division Commission on Accreditation.
